Pavilion of Hope

Pavilion of Hope is a competition proposal for the National Memorial for Victims and Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse in the nation’s capital, Canberra.

Overlooking Lake Burley Griffin, the design consists of a pavilion with a rectangular platform that opens out to the lakefront. The platform as an extension of a ground plane displays openness and transparency whilst also making the memorial accessible to all public. The design also composes of a slender roof with skylights symbolizing hope for the victims and survivors. Inbuilt seats are integrated within the inside walls of the pavilion and in the extended landscape, providing space for introspection and reflection.
