Courtyard House

Chevli Architects designed their own family residence in the new suburb of Coombs, ACT. The house consists of two components; the living and the sleeping areas; which are divided through a central courtyard. The two built forms are distinctive through a careful choice of materials; a brick face wraps the bedrooms, whilst the living area is embellished with metal cladding. The dividing central leafy oasis encapsulates the surrounding natural landscape and skillfully projects north light into internal spaces. The house employs a modern design philosophy evident through the exterior palette and the interior open plan.
