Built around a pool, the Whitlam House is a feature for modern architecture. The main corridor creates a visual link to the pool through full glass windows, whilst the family and dining areas open to the alfresco – transitioning seamlessly from indoors to outdoors. The façade’s timber and metal cladding create a straight-lined theme that is offset by stone textures and neat horizontals.
With two school-aged children and parents that work from home, the house emphasised private study areas. Both children’s bedrooms incorporate designated studies with window seats, whilst a street-facing home office sits away from the main family area for privacy.
